This is not just another fitness book. Aptly named, The Fit Bottomed Girls Anti-Diet is a refreshing read packed with 10-minute exercises to help you get to the heart of fitness and weight loss by getting to the heart of YOU. Here’s more about the book from authors Jennipher Walters and Erin Whitehead, co-founders of FitBottomedGirls.com …and my fellow journalists and blogging pals.

FatFighterTV:  There are hundreds of fitness/diet books out there. Why do we need another one? How is yours different?

Erin: The Fit Bottomed Girls Anti-Diet is different because it’s truly the opposite of a diet. It’s not about deprivation, but about finding a healthy lifestyle that you love and that you can sustain forever. It truly looks at your whole life — healthy eats and workouts, of course, but also how to de-stress, how to increase your confidence and fight what’s holding you back. It really is everything we wish we had known about “diet” our entire lives!

FFTV: What are the main things you want readers to take away from the book?

Erin: We want them to take away with them the confidence that they’ve “got this” — whatever their goal is. Whether they want to lose a few pounds, run a race or be able to say “no” when they want to, we want to empower all women to have the confidence and self-love they need to tackle the world!

FFTV: You incorporate journaling exercises throughout the book. Why does this play such an important role in the fitness journey?

Jenn: There are a lot of studies that show that journaling can help people to be healthier and happier. We know for us that it’s been great at helping people get to the core of certain issues, like emotional eating, negative body image or low self esteem. Sitting down with a piece of paper for 10 minutes and just letting your ideas and thoughts flow can be very cathartic. And in the book, we’ve picked journaling exercises that really help you to switch your thinking to the positive. From writing about what you love about your body to what you’re grateful for in your life to why you deserve to be healthy, it’s feel-good stuff!

Feel good stuff is right – I truly love how this book emphasizes mental fitness and weaves it throughout. Oh, and there’s plenty of sass and humor to boot!  The Fit Bottomed Girls Anti-Diet is on sale May 6.
