Sometimes I play a game when I’m doing laundry – instead of being efficient and taking a load of clothes down to the washer all at once, I break up the load and go up and down the stairs a few extra times. It helps me get a little more movement in my day, which is always a good thing.
This month, taking the stairs could also mean more money, courtesy of UnitedHealthcare’s Source4Women We Dare You campaign.
Since July 2013, We Dare You has created a new dare each month challenging women to share a photo of how they’re staying healthy. February’s dare is to take the stairs instead of the elevator. All you have to do is upload a photo of the stairs you took for a chance to win a $400 Visa gift card!
Besides the obvious awesomeness of winning a $400 gift card, there are plenty of other reasons to take the stairs instead of the elevator, including:
- It adds exercise to your day, helping you reach that daily goal of 30 minutes of physical activity you need
- It can be faster than taking the elevator, especially during peak times
- It is a good stress reliever
So take those stairs – at work, at the mall, at the parking garage – wherever you can. Then take a picture of said stairs and upload it here for your chance to win. Good luck!
